Wider has recently launched the first 28.04-meter hybrid-propulsion WiderCat 92 yacht, named Acali. Built by the Fano-based brand, the WiderCat 92 is designed to harmonize indoor and outdoor spaces, achieving a balance between aesthetic appeal and functionality.
The exterior of the WiderCat 92 is designed by Luca Dini Design & Architecture, with naval architecture by Wider. The yacht captures the elegance of a monohull or superyacht while demonstrating Wider's dedication to sophisticated design. According to Marcello Maggi, head of W-Fin Sarl, which owns 100% of Wider equity, "The WiderCat 92 is a collective masterpiece, combining vision, craftsmanship, and advanced technology."
Acali's layout includes four staterooms: a spacious owner’s suite on the main deck, two large VIP suites, and a twin guest stateroom on the lower deck. The owner’s suite features a private foredeck lounge, nearly half the total space, with a forward-facing bed and ensuite bathroom. The main deck's customizable aft cockpit offers stunning views through uninterrupted windows.
The upper deck of Acali includes a forward cockpit, a sky lounge, and the helm station. The tender garage features a transom hatch that converts into a large swim platform, while fold-down bulwarks from the VIP suites add space and conceal storage for water toys. Wider notes that this innovative design differentiates the WiderCat 92 from other yachts of similar size and category, enhancing the seafaring experience.
The WiderCat 92 is powered by Wider's advanced serial hybrid propulsion system. Twin electric motors deliver 500kW each to the thrusters, and two 349kW variable speed generators produce electrical energy. The yacht is equipped with 30 LiFePO4 (Lithium-Iron Phosphate) batteries and a modern Battery Management System, which ensures continuous monitoring and intelligent charge balancing.
The yacht's generators operate with minimal power consumption, enabling cruising in ZEM (Zero Emission Mode) for 27 nautical miles at six knots in complete silence, or a 14-hour autonomy on battery power at anchor. Additionally, 150 square meters of solar panels provide energy self-sufficiency at anchor, storing excess energy in the batteries for nighttime use. The hybrid propulsion system reduces engine strain, extends maintenance intervals, and lowers fuel consumption, noise, and vibrations compared to traditional yachts.
The brand new
WiderCat 92 is available for sale with Smart Yachts. The delivery is scheduled for November 2024.
